FAMILY ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS:

Bethany House (BHNV) Shelter Program provides accommodations for victims of domestic abuse. Once recovery has been initiated, BHNV assists residents in their efforts to reintegrate into the community.  To complete the recovery process, BHNV continues to work with former residents for a period of up to two years after graduating from Bethany House Shelter Program.

Bethany House has developed three-tiered approach for assisting clients in their journey to recovery:

PRIMARY SUPPORT 

Emergency Support services assist clients in rebuilding their lives after abuse.

Emergency Services: A safe group living environment with a live-in house manager for 4 to 6 months.

Food and clothing: through Bethany House Pantry and Joseph’s Coat Thrift Shop.

Crisis counseling : Individual on-site counseling for moms and children

 

TRANSITIONAL SUPPORT

Transitional Support prepares the client for independent living.

Case-Management: Individual Service Plan (ISP): Goals setting and goal maintenance.

Life-skills training: Purpose Driven Life-Skills training, Housekeeping, positive parenting, health and nutrition and safety planning.

Small Group support services: Bi-weekly moms and children’s Trauma Recovery Program and Purpose Driven Life Skills groups addresses issues related to Domestic Violence.

Referrals and assistance into long term-housing.

FOLLOW-UP SUPPORT

Follow-Up Support allows the clients to have a sense of community:  Follow-up Services are provided to clients for up to two years after they graduate from BHNV’s Shelter Program. Follow-up Services include:

Quarterly reunions to build a community of support

Small group activities to promote healing

Educational opportunities for spiritual and leadership growth
